California has the 5th largest economy in the world. Surpassing France, Italy and the UK. The San Fernando Valley is home to 1.8 million people with 4 percent of its make up being black. This equates to a tremendous amount of black buying power located in the San Fernando Valley. Many of its black residents are spread around with a large concentration in Woodland Hills. However finding black owned and operated businesses can be complicated. There was a need to find these businesses and make them known to the public. Thereby the creation of Black In The Valley. Founded during the pandemic of 2020, Black In The Valley is the perfect vehicle for support during these demanding times. Whether it be promotion of an event, business or social engagement, Black In The Valley is the hub for you. Black In The Valley is funded and parented by Zawadi Cultural Collective. A nonprofit organization operating in the San Fernando Valley.

Black In The Valley and Zawadi Cultural Collective has a variety of social and educational programs planned for the 23/24 year. Here's breakdown of monthly events:
- Kidpreneur Business Academy
A 6-week program designed to foster the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in today's youth. A team of business professionals will guide our young entrepreneurs through the steps needed to become business owners. They will help our participants take their ideals from concept to realization, completing the necessary paperwork required to start a business and launching their business at our Juneteenth Community Celebration.
- Juneteenth Community Celebration
An event to commemorate the emancipation of Texan slaves from slavery on June 19, 1865. Geared towards bringing together the African American Valley community together for an afternoon of fellowship and fun. The event features music, family activities, sports, water play, a book fair, essay scholarship, community awards, marketplace and the kidpreneur business launch.
